Mollendor family farm

I am visiting My daughter and SIL on their farm in Western Nebraska.   I thought you would like to see the process of planting.   Usually we are visiting during harvest or summer growth seasons!  Spring planting is a whole different thing!  Here David is refiling the fertilizers,  seed, and insecticide in his planter.

David’s 8 yr old planter does 12 rows at a time at 5 miles per hour,  guided by GPS giving very uniform planting.   The newer models can do 24 to 48 rows at a time at 10 MPH!  Much faster!…. but much more expensive.   Notice his tractor,  with caterpillar like treads.

Visiting grandsons!

We couldn’t stay home while 2 of our grandsons were competing in track for state champions! First meet of our visit was the last JrHi meet our the season! Chase country won in all 4 categories, 7th & 8th grade boys and girls. Tucker won all 4 of his events! 4 Golds! He has qualified and we go to the Jr Hi championship next weekend! Here’s a glimpse of his exciting day yesterday!

Field events first, long jump and triple jump, then 200m dash and 4×100 relay!

North shore and island circle drive

We enjoy the GyPSy Guide tours on the phone app and Oahu is no exception. The commentary and driving instructions are great! Today we drove the island circle for the full day, with a stop at the National cemetery ( next post), the north shore beaches, and back thru the Pali.
